Consultants for the Downtown TOD Plan and the Tracy Gateway Specific Plan Costing The City Millions
Talk is cheap, consultant are not. Kimley-Horn Associates were retained for the Gateway project.
And De Novo Planning Group received a similar contract from the City.
While other consultants received similar contracts (read above) the one thing that both the Kimley-Horn and De Novo agreements have in common is Veronica Vargas. How? Vargas has been the major driver behind both efforts, using her position and experience from her personal company (conflict of interest?) to advise staff.
In addition, Veronica Vargas' efforts have benefited one specific individual land owners as it relates to the properties specific to both the Transit Center Measure and Gateway. His name is Measure M's Mike Sandhu.
Yes, that Mike Sandhu. As we know, Mr. Sandhu has sought exemptions for land to develop in Tracy for years. It appears that he's at it again with Vargas' Transit Measure. More to come.
